Reports turn the images and information prepared in IRT Cronista into complete, editable Microsoft Word documents. Use them to present inspection findings, explain detected conditions, recommend actions, deliver results to customers or colleagues, and retain a consistent record of an inspection.

A Word report brings the available thermography data and supporting information into one document. Because the result is a Word document, you can fully customize its text, formatting, page layout, branding, tables, and additional content.

Combine inspection and analysis data

Depending on its design, a report can include:

§Infrared images and their linked visual images.

§Measurement results, profiles, histograms, and other analysis information.

§Notations, comments, and assigned asset data.

§Image and file properties, report-wide document properties, and calculated or conditionally formatted formulas.

§Explanatory text, tables, logos, and other content added in Word.

Create a report

Choose one of the following methods:

§Generate a report using a template to create a structured report for one image, selected images, or a folder. IRT Cronista fills the template with the requested image and analysis data and opens the generated document in Word. This is the usual method for standardized or recurring reports.

§Create a report manually to build a one-off document directly in Word and insert the required thermography content as you work.

Standardize reports with templates

A report template defines the Word layout and determines which images, graphs, fields, tables, notations, properties, and formulas appear in generated reports. It can also contain fixed content such as a cover page, explanatory text, company branding, and signatures. Templates make repeated reports faster to create and help keep their content and presentation consistent.

Template authors design templates in Word with commands on the Thermo Reports tab and manage them in IRT Cronista. See Report template structure and Managing report templates.

Edit and deliver the report

The ThermoReport add-in adds the Thermo Reports tab to Word. Use it to insert thermography-specific report elements, organize report sections, and update report content from IRT Cronista. Use standard Word tools to revise the text and layout and to save, print, or export the finished document.

Each populated report section remains linked to its source infrared image. While the source image is available, you can open it from the report, revise the image or its analysis in IRT Cronista, and update the related report content without rebuilding the complete document. See Editing generated reports.
